APPLICATION GUIDE

  1. Purpose:
    The applicant must understand that our bursary is intended to assist qualifying individuals who may have difficulty pursuing their study of music without our support.
  2. Criteria:
    Read the criteria for application carefully and note the bold print in each so that you may understand our determination to help those who need our assistance.
  3. Contact Information:
    Make sure your contact information is accurate and complete so that the Committee can get in touch with you if we need to discuss some aspect your application. In order to establish a more personal relationship between the choir and student, it is preferred, that the application be completed by the applicant personally, with guidance from a parent/guardian if necessary.
  4. Desired Training:
    Be as specific as you can when answering the instructor and music program questions. This information may be used by the Committee to evaluate its appropriateness taking into consideration your objectives and future music studies.
  5. Community Performance:
    While we value highly our program of assisting students of music through the proceeds of our concerts, The Muskoka Men of Song perform for their own pleasure and endeavour to instill those values in those we assist through our bursary program. In this way it is our hope to build appreciation of music in our community.
    Please assure us in the last paragraph of the application that you share and support us in this regard.
  6. Finally:
    A recommendation from your music instructor is required for a successful application. The Committee has to be assured that you are sincere and dedicated in your music studies. These attributes are important to us.

ALL APPICATIONS REQUIRE A RECOMENDATION FROM YOUR INSTRUCTOR(S), BEFORE YOUR APPLCATION CAN BE EVALATED. THIS CAN BE EMAILED TO THE SELECTION COMMITTEE OR ADDED FROM YOUR COMPUTER.
